Green school updates were periodically given at staff meetings throughout the year.

Staff Update
On March 10th, Lori Morgan, our Green School leader, sent an e-mail to all staff reminding them of our upcoming Green School certification deadline. Our website application was shared so staff can view all the green efforts we have been making at school.
Our Water, Our Watershed
Matt Yates, one of our fourth grade teachers, attended the Our Water, Our Watershed training through the Chesapeake Bay Foundation during the Summer of 2018. The training started at the local schoolyard and worked its way to the streams, then rivers, then finally the bay. Teachers learned about pollution and water quality and all the things we do that affect the water in the bay.
Bluebird Boxes
Two of our teachers, Matt Yates (4th grade) and Fran Solovieff (3rd grade) attended a workshop on March 12, 2019 at the Smith Center to create Bluebird boxes for our school! They constructed the boxes and will install them in the Spring. We will monitor the bird houses and make observations of the Bluebirds.
